When you visit

This website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). To send you the pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare handles technical data such as your IP address, your browser, the page you asked for and the time. This is needed to run a safe website, which is a legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Cloudflare may process this data in the USA; it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

To see how many people visit, I use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page visits without cookies, without building a profile of you, and without using your IP address or browser details to recognise you. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Fonts and pictures come from this website itself. Nothing is loaded from Google, and the only outside script is Cloudflare's visitor count.

The light and dark switch

If you switch to light mode, your browser remembers that choice on your own device (in its local storage), so the next page opens the same way. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings. Storing it is needed for the feature you asked for (§ 25(2) TDDDG).

Forms, the calculator and WhatsApp

The contact form, the calculator and the package finder work inside your browser. Nothing you type is sent to this website or saved here.

When you press a WhatsApp button, WhatsApp opens with a message already written. It is only sent if you press Send in WhatsApp. From then on, WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Limited) handles the message under its own privacy policy, and I receive it on my phone. If you call me, your phone company handles the call.

I use what you send me only to answer you and, if you want, to prepare an offer (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). I delete it when it's no longer needed, unless tax law says I must keep it, for example for invoices.

Links to other websites

Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, WhatsApp and my games take you to other websites. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Your rights

You can ask me what data I have about you, and ask me to correct it, delete it, limit how I use it, or give you a copy (Art. 15 to 20 GDPR). You can also object to any use based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). Just email me.

You can also complain to a data protection authority. In Berlin that's the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.

Changes

If this website starts saving anything new, for example a visitor counter or enquiries, this page will say so first.
